DONNA E. BROCKETT
WEST SPRINGFIELD, PA - - Donna Elaine Brockett, age 75, of West Springfield, Pa., went home to be with her Lord on Monday morning, April 30, 2007, at her home with her family beside her.
Elaine was born in Punxsutawney, Pa., on June 17, 1931, the daughter of the late Harold S. and Gladys Mora (Mottarn) Barlow.
Elaine graduated from Hamot Hospital in September of 1952 and worked for three years there until she married Art Brockett in September of 1955. She then worked for Dr. Anderson a year and then Brown Memorial Hospital. She also worked for Home Health Supervisories in Erie and Crawford Counties.
Elaine was a member of the West Springfield Baptist Church and also was Past Matron of the Albion Chapter #22, Order of the Eastern Star, and a past board member of Love, Inc. Elaine enjoyed traveling, and she enjoyed her family and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, for they were all the joy of her life!
Besides her parents and her husband, Art, who died on Dec. 30, 1989, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Carpenter, in 1983; and a brother, Robert A. Barlow.
Elaine is survived by four sons: Wayne Brockett and his wife, Judith, of Wellsville, Pa., Brian Brockett and his wife, Barbara, of Pierpont, Ohio, Mark Brockett and his wife, Stacy, of Albion, Pa. and Larry Brockett and his wife, Hope Hanisek, of Ohio; a daughter, Bev and her husband, John, Stemple of Albion, Pa.; and a son-in-law, Bernard Carpenter and his wife, Jen, of Conneaut, Ohio. Elaine is also survived by two brothers, James E. Barlow and his wife, Mona, of West Springfield, Pa., and Edwin C. Barlow and his wife, Sandy, of Wilmington, Mass.; and a sister-in-law, June Barlow of Andover, Mass. Elaine also had 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends and Family are invited to call at the West Springfield Baptist Church, 13695 W. Ridge Road, West Springfield, Pa., on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, from 2 until 9 p.m. with an Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m.

Life Celebration Services will be at the church on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Andrew Shields officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Cemetery, East Springfield, Pa.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Elaine Brockett to either the West Springfield Baptist Church or to the Judson Baptist Camp, 398 Holliday Road, North Springfield, Pa. 16430.

 ROBERT H. FORSTER

OCALA, FL - - Robert "Bob" H. Forster, Broadcasters Hall of Famer and veteran Cleveland radio and television personality, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at Legacy House in Ocala, Fla. after a short illness. He was 89.
Born March 7, 1918 in Conneaut, Ohio, he was the son of Arthur and Anna (Marchbank) Forster.
He graduated in 1936 from Conneaut High School. He was President of his senior class and valedictorian. He had earned many letters in track, basketball and football. He played baseball in the American Legion League and was signed in 1937 to play in the Mountain State League as a pitcher when an injury to his pitching arm cut short his career in baseball. A Veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II and was a 1st Lieutenant.
Bob’s radio career began in 1941 at WLEU in Erie, Pa. He resumed his radio career after W.W.II at WICA in Ashtabula, Ohio. His program aired until 1951 when he accepted an announcer position at WSRS in Cleveland in the afternoon drive time slot.
He played many special characters on the radio to entertain his audience such as: The "Lightnin’ Bug". Bob furthered his Cleveland radio career at WJW, WERE and WHK, working with fellow legendary Cleveland broadcasters Bill Randle, Carl Reese, Bill Gordon, Howie Lund, Jack Gale and Ronnie Barrett. He also hosted other radio shows in the Cleveland market especially "Pigskin Playback" which aired after every Browns game on WERE and WHK. He also worked at WITH in Baltimore.
Bob was known not only for his radio work in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland but was also one of the pioneers of Cleveland television broadcasting. His fame became even greater when he appeared on such television shows as Gasinator Theater, Home Theater, Bell Motors Western Theater and the Old Dutch Show. In addition, Bob’s Cleveland television credits consist of WJW-TV, KYW-TV and WEWS-TV. Bob also hosted the "Kenny Bass Polka Poppers Show" viewed on WEWS. He also was fill-in host for "Polka Varieties" host Paul Wilcox on WEWS-TV.
Additionally, Bob enjoyed an active free-lance commercial voice-over career. Just a few of his clients were: Big Boy Restaurants nationwide, Pepsi Cola, The Cleveland Press, Superior Meats, Remco Toys and many other nationally known and Cleveland area businesses.
Bob was inducted into the Broadcasters Hall of Fame on October 6, 1993 along with other famous broadcasters: Country artist and Hee Haw regular Roy Clark, Bill "Smootchie" Gordon, Nev Chandler and the Rev Rex Humbard to name a few.
He later worked as an industrial salesman for Pioneer Standard Electronics prior to his retirement in 1983 and was their top salesman year after year.
Survivors include three sons, James A. of Wooster, Ohio, David J. of Concord Township, Ohio, and Robert C. (Deborah) of Ocala, Fla. and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Forster; one son, Jerome Thomas Forster; one grandchild, James Fitzgerald Forster; a sister, Irene Schramn; and his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 p.m., Noon, Saturday, May 5, 2007, at St. Joseph Church, 3330 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Fr. Philip Miller as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Calling Hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2007, and 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2007, at ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 Prospect Road, Ashtabula.

GERTRUDE A. KELLEY
ASHTABULA - - Gertrude Alice Kelley, age 77, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at Park Haven Home where she had been a resident for the past 2 years.
Born June 25, 1929 in Vernon, Ohio, she was the daughter of Burley and Leoma (Mackey) Hunter, and had been an area resident since 1948.
She enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking, crafts of all kinds, bingo, housecleaning, having family get-togethers, but most of all she was a loving mother and friend.
Survivors include four children, Carl (Michelle) Kelley of Ashtabula, Raymond (Kathy) Kelley of Washington, Kevin (Sharon) Kelley of North Carolina, and Darlene (Hazziem) Alzatar of Kansas; 14 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Kelley; one son, Jim Kelley; two sisters, Ruth Cobb and Lucille Gunritiz; three brothers, David, Arthur, and Virgil Hunter; and her parents.
A Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2007, at the ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio. The Rev. Michael Legg, Pastor of First Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.

ANNE J. DAVIS
GENEVA - - Anne J. Davis, age 82, passed away Friday, May 4, 2007, at Hospice House, Cleveland.

Born Oct. 25, 1924 in Conneaut, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Rosie (Krony) Sedmack and a Geneva resident most of her life. On Oct. 22, 1977, she married Charles Davis in Geneva.

She enjoyed baking, cooking and knitting.

Survivors include her husband, Charles of Geneva; children, Patty (Larry) Varsetti, and Anna (Mark) Todd, all of Geneva, Frank (Connie) Stark of Pa., and Mike (Shelly) Stark of Rock Creek; 10 grandchildren, Kerri and Kristy Varsetti, Amy and Katie Todd, Frank, John, Justin and Aaron Stark, Jennifer Hejduk, and Jeff Stone; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Frank J. Stark; and a grandson.

There will be a private family service.

GRANT K. LEWIS
ASHTABULA - - Grant K. Lewis, age 65, of Ashtabula, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
He was born in Shippenville, Pa., Feb. 17, 1942. Following graduation from Rowe High School in Conneaut, he served in the U.S. Nay during the Vietnam War, and worked fifteen years with the Interlake Steamship Company.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Dolley) and his mother, Mary Lewis of Ashtabula.
Grant had a lifelong love of art and was recently honored with an Art Show exhibiting his art work at the nursing facility.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Lewis.
A private Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.

LELLEN A. MACKEY
CONNEAUT - - Lellen A. Mackey, age 86, of Buffalo St., Conneaut, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
She was born in Conneaut, Ohio, on April 12, 1921, to Jesse and Lorella (née: Tanner) Grenamyer.
Lellen enjoyed crocheting, gardening, traveling, and her grandchildren. She was a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Mackey is survived by her daughter, Joyce Wright of Conneaut; son, Robert (Helen) Mackey of Conneaut; grandchildren, Cheri Wright Smith, Chad Wright, Misty Wright Smith, Amy Mackey, and Becky Mackey Holmes; great-grandchildren, Makala Landers, Aaron Smith, Andrew Smith, Ryan Smith, Rachael Smith, Alex Wright, Madison Smith, and Camden Smith; and great-great-grandson, Jayden Smith.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Mackey; and a brother, Harold Grenamyer.
 

Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2007, at the THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with the Rev. David Miller, pastor of Lakeview United Methodist Church, officiating. A private burial will be held at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. (noon) until the time of services on Friday at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Lakeview United Methodist Church, in her name.

AINA A. KESKINEN
CONNEAUT - - Aina A. Keskinen, age 97, of Conneaut, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at her residence.
She was born February 3, 1910 in Ashta-bula, Ohio, and was the daughter of Antti and Miilia (Toumala) Hakundy. Mrs. Keskinen attended the Ashtabula Business College, and worked as a receptionist for the Conneaut News Herald.
She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Conneaut, where she was involved in many activities, including the Alter Guild, the funeral committee, church choir, the Priscilla Circle, the Quilting Ministry, and adult Sunday school class. Mrs. Keskinen enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, traveling, especially to Finland, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Keskinen of Long Island, N.Y.; her son, David (Rosemary) Keskinen of Solon, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Kristen, Erik, and Peter Keskinen.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allan who passed away January 31, 2007; three sisters, Anne Morgan, Mary Leinonen, and Aileen Hakundy; and her brother, Andy Hakundy.

Funeral Service will be 4 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2007, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 876 Grove St. and Lake Rd., Conneaut, with the Rev. Franklin Gore officiating.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of the service at the Church.

DOROTHY L. NAYLOR
CONNEAUT - - Dorothy L. Naylor, age 82, of Conneaut, died Thursday, May 10, 2007, at the Inn Conneaut Health Center following a short illness.
Dorothy was born in Conneaut on August 27, 1924, the daughter of Earl and Charlotte "Lottie" (Eastwick) Barringer. She was a 1943 graduate of Conneaut High School. Dorothy worked at a number of different local businesses for many years, but her true career in life was raising Bob and enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was a member of the Modern Mother’s Club, the Board of Health for 11 years, the Conneaut Historical Society, the Federated Church in East Springfield, Pa., and was a poll worker during elections. She enjoyed going to her weekly Sunday School class and attending luncheons at the church’s Senior Center.  Dorothy was also active in the respiratory therapy group at Brown Memorial Hospital where she exercised three days a week with her "buddies." Dorothy enjoyed taking car rides with her husband, Bob, visiting with friends, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Lois Thomas.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Robert F. Naylor, whom she married December 12, 1945; a son, Robert (Christine) Naylor of Conneaut; five grandchildren, who she loved and doted on from the day they were born, Nancy (Jim) Chadwick of Anthem, Ariz., Tarry (Scott) Bates of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jill (Kevin) Kauffman of Strongsville, Ohio, Jonathan Naylor and Christa Naylor, both of Conneaut - who all affectionately referred to her as "GRAM." She also had four great-grandchildren, Payton and Connor Chadwick and Ben and Tara Bates, all of Ariz.; and her sister-in-law, Jeanette Speer, of Conneaut.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2007, at The Federated Church in East Springfield, PA., with Pastor Rick Plucknett officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Conneaut.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 13, 2007, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of Western Reserve, or the Conneaut Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

CONNEAUT - - Lola Mae Douglas Barnes, age 75, of Fifield Ave., Conneaut, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at the Villa at the Lake.
She was born July 19, 1931 in Fountain Co., Indiana, to Homer and Ada Douglas. Lola lived in Conneaut for 59 years, and has been a member of the Free Methodist Church of Conneaut for 40 years.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold J. Barnes; sons, the Rev. Arthur L. (Kristy) Barnes, of Linesville, Pa., and Larry J. Barnes of Conneaut; grandchildren, Kristopher Barnes, Matthew Barnes, and Michael Barnes; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Katie, Timothy, Julia, and Laura.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers, Roy Douglas, Tom Douglas, and Lee Douglas; infant sister, Julia Douglas; infant brother, Chester Douglas; and granddaughter, Kelly Marie Barnes.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2007, at the THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Tami Toothman-Shoup, pastor of Amboy United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.

PAULINE A. PALAGYI
CONNEAUT- - Pauline A. Palagyi, age 92, died Thursday afternoon, May 10, 2007, at the Harrington Home in Conneaut.
Pauline was born August 3, 1914, in Herminie, Pa., the daughter of Valentine and Antonia (Stegovec) Kodelja. She graduated from St. Mary Grade School and went on to work for the Goldette Factory as a seamstress. Pauline married her late husband, Joseph, on Nov. 10, 1934, at St. Mary’s Church in Conneaut.
She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church in Conneaut, and the Slovenian National Benefit Society. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening. Pauline was a homemaker and especially loved to cook and care for her family.  
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; a sister, Rose Olah; a brother, Valentine Kodelja, and an infant brother; a niece, Rosemary Siders; and a nephew, Joseph Kodelja.  
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Eleanor and James Richards of Conneaut; two sons, Paul and Patty Palagyi, and Robert Palagyi, both of Conneaut; two granddaughters, Ranae and Bob Dombroski of Conneaut, and Lisa and Rodric Lenhart of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Mary Strle and Anne Tully, both of Conneaut; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, Mill Street, Conneaut, with Father Raymond Thomas as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Conneaut.

Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut, Ohio.

CONNEAUT - - Former Conneaut resident Jeffery M. Vickery, age 43, of Cleveland, Ohio, died Sunday morning, May 13, 2007, at Huron Road Hospital in Cleveland.
     He was born Dec. 23, 1963, in Conneaut, Ohio, and was a son of Hugh and Mildred (West) Vickery.
     Survivors include two sisters, Sandra (George) Peterson of York, Pa., and Vickie Gerard of Erie, Pa.; his brother, Phil Vickery of Conneaut, Ohio; a niece, Brittany Vickery; and nephews, Tony, Patrick, Phil Jr. and Paul Vickery, and Brian and Matthew Peterson.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Randy Vickery.
     There will be no service or visitation observed.
     The MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements.

ANTHONY H. CIESICKI
CONNEAUT - - Anthony Henry (Tony) Ciesicki, age 20, a resident of Conneaut, died early Tuesday morning, May 15, 2007.
     Born August 29, 1986, in Conneaut, Ohio, he was the son of Alan and Mary (Colucci) Ciesicki. He was a 2005 graduate of Edgewood High School.
     Survivors include his parents, of North Kingsville; his loved and cherished son, Anthony Michael Ciesicki; his life companion, Lindsey Peteri of Conneaut; brothers Joshua (Bonnie) of Florida, and Alan James (Heid Johns) of Ashtabula; sisters Tami (Clint) Dombroski of Florida, and Melodi (Larry) Gross of North Kingsville; and his maternal grandmother, Ida Colucci of North Kingsville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and many loving friends.
     He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Colucci; and paternal grandparents, Henry and Ann Ciesicki.
     A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2007, in the GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula, Ohio. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

BERT P. COPPLE
ERIE, PA - - Bert P. Copple, age 85, of Harvard Road, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at his residence following complications due to Parkinson’s disease.
     He was born September 27, 1921 in Conneaut, Ohio, a son of the late Anthony and Mary Pizzi Copple. He lived in Erie, Pa. most of his life. Bert was a graduate of Technical Memorial High School and served in the United States Army during World War II. He had worked at G.E. for 42 years and was a member of their Quarter Century Club.
     He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
     He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris C. Julio Copple of Erie; four sons, Bert A. Copple and his wife, Chris of Erie, Pa., Gary A. Copple and his companion, Annette of Cambridge Springs, Pa., Mark S. Copple and Barry L. Copple, both of Erie, Pa.; and one brother, Nick Copple of Redding, Calif. Bert is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

CONNEAUT - - Paul Coccitto, age 79, of Conneaut, Ohio, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at the Inn Conneaut Health Center.
     Paul was born in Conneaut on May 13, 1928, the son of Cosmo and Mary (DeResiesie) Coccitto. He attended 15th Street School and later went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He served as a private first-class while the United States was occupying Korea following the war.
     Following an honorable discharge, Paul went on to work in construction, building homes in the Mentor and Conneaut area. In the early 1950s, he and his wife, Mary, purchased the City Garden Center and ran their very successful business until 1989.
     Paul was a member of both St. Frances Cabrini Church and St. Mary Church. He was always helping to do any work or necessary repairs both inside and outside the churches. Paul gave special attention to all of the flowers and gardening at both churches for over 30 years. He also had a special talent for making clocks for various churches all over the world. His clocks were always donated for a worthy cause and were never sold. Paul was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
     Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary (Mederious) Coccitto, whom he married July 7, 1951, at St. Mary Church; brother, Michael Coccitto; a sister, Violet Belnap; and a half brother, Anthony Marsh.
     Paul is survived by brothers, Albert and Cosmo Coccitto, both of Conneaut; and many nieces and nephews.
     A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 24, 2007, at 12 p.m., Noon, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, with Father Raymond Thomas, of St. Frances and St. Mary, and Father Stephen Wassie, of St. Joseph in Jefferson and Administrator of St. Andrews in Sheffield, Paul’s nephew, as co-celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Conneaut.
     Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday evening, May 23, 2007, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.

O. ELLA ANDREJACK
ASHTABULA - - O. Ella Andrejack, age 90, formerly of St. Rt. 193, Kingsville, Ohio, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Silver Sands where she had been a resident for the past several years.
She was born March 7, 1917 in Cleveland, the daughter of Zachary and Antonena Stelmachuk and had been an area resident most of her life.
A graduate of Kingsville High School, she was a lifelong member of St. Andrews Catholic Church where she cleaned the church and was an avid bingo worker for many years. She belonged to Council of Women and participated in their many fundraisers. She also ran the blood pressure clinic for many years in the church hall for Sheffield Township.
Ella loved her flower garden and playing pinochle. She volunteered canning fruits and vegetables at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home and collecting for the American Red Cross.
Her survivors include three sons, Robert J. (Bobbie) of Kingsville, Andrew James, Jr. (Shirley) of North Kingsville, and David Z. (Jackie) of Greer, S.C.; two daughters, Annette ((Dave) Holub of Kingsville and Elaine (Dennis) Engelmann of Ashtabula; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Andrejack, Sr. on July 1, 2000; one granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Andrejack; and her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007, at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 3700 St. Rt. 193, Kingsville, with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Wassie, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville.

ASHTABULA - - Ruth L. Patterson, age 94, formerly of Walnut Blvd., Ashtabula, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at the Lake Vista Retirement Center in Cortland, Ohio.
      Born Oct. 2, 1912 in Bulah, Ohio, she was the daughter of Harry N. and Eva B. (Fickinger) Farr and graduated from Kingsville High School and Kent State University.
     She was employed for many years in elementary education in Lake and Ashtabula Counties.
     She was a member of the North Kingsville Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing the piano and reading.
     Surviving her is a son, Kevin (Carol) Patterson of Cortland, Ohio; two granddaughters, Lisa Lambert of Cortland and Shelly Patterson of Mooresville, N.C.; a great-grandson, Dominic Adams; and several nieces and nephews.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hugh Patterson in 2001; three sisters, Bernice Johnson, Hazel Gary and Allene Shriver; and a brother, Walter Farr.
     Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2007, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 526 W. CONNEAUT - - Joseph A. Morano, Sr., age 67, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at UH-Memorial Hospital of Geneva.
     Born in Conneaut, Ohio, on Feb. 23, 1940, Joseph was the son of Fred and Colleen (Cifelli) Morano. He was a 1958 graduate of Conneaut High School.
     Joe served for a short time in the Merchant Marines and then went on to work in Ashtabula at the Roller Plastics Company. He also worked for about five years with the Pittsburgh and Conneaut Dock Co., and later retired from the Hadlock Plastics Co. in Geneva.
     Joe was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan. He enjoyed traveling, visiting casinos and playing poker with his friends. He especially loved spending time with his family and the love of his life, his grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Theodore Evans.
     Joe is survived by his wife, Anita (DuFour) Morano, whom he married Dec. 31, 1992; one son, Joseph Jr. and Kelly Morano of Chardon, Ohio; three daughters, Patti Moore of Brunswick, Ohio, Theresa and Larry Rodgers of Conneaut, and Paula Morano of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, William Morano of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a sister, Concetta (Connie) Evans of Conneaut; seven grandchildren, Grace, Sophia, and Ava Morano, Michaela and Kennedy Rodgers, and Shelby and Logan Moore; three step-children, Jim (Nikki) DuFour of Geneva, Tracy DuFour and Joe DuFour, both of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

LESTER G. STEVENS
KINGSVILLE - - Lester G. Stevens, age 92, of Creek Rd., Kingsville, died Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
     He was born June 11, 1914, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to the late Frank and Avis (Russell) Stevens. He resided in the Kingsville area most of his life. Lester sailed on the Great Lakes before working at Ashtabula Hyde and Leather. He also worked for the former Nickel Plate Railroad, before retiring from New York Central as a machinist.
     Mr. Stevens was the past President of the Felix Motorcycle Club, member and past Master of the Bugby Grange; he also belonged to the Good Sam Camping Club, and the Pomona Grange.
     He is survived by three daughters, Beverly Johnson of Islimarada, Fla., Elaine (William) Scheanon of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Connie (John) Kirk of Kingsville, Ohio; sons, Gary (Gloria) Stevens of Kingsville, Ohio, and Douglas (Rose) Stevens of Pace, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Olive (Frank) Roth of Florida.
     Lester was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eileen (Smith); an infant daughter; brothers, Raymond and Charles Stevens; sisters, Lounetta Reed, Pearl Clark, and Ora Hamilton; and a grandson, David Johnson.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St., Conneaut. Burial will follow at Lowville Cemetery, in Lowville, Pennsylvania.

WILLIS L. BENNETT
CONNEAUT - - Willis L. Bennett, age 91, of Conneaut, Ohio, died Saturday morning, May 26, 2007, at his home.
     He was born May 10, 1916, in North Girard, Pa., and was the son of Glenn W. and Nora H. (Webber) Bennett. He worked most of his life as a truck driver, as well as a bus driver for the school system. He had also been employed at U.S. Scrap Iron, and worked in maintenance for Brown Memorial Hospital.
     He was an active member and held many representative positions between Free Methodist Church and Amboy United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, rides in the country and at the lake, bird watching, woodworking, photography, watching wrestling and baseball, and spending time with his family.
     During the end of his life, he was able to remain at home with his wife, thanks to Hospice of the Western Reserve. He enjoyed the friendships he made throughout his life as well as his Hospice team. His 91st birthday was spent in his glory, fishing with his Hospice Nurse, Robin Teston, and celebrating with family and friends.
     Willis is survived by his wife, Eloise J. (Harley) Bennett, whom he married in Conneaut on July 1, 1936; his daughter, Opal I. Goodenow of Conneaut; two daughters-in-law, Patricia Bennett and Lois Bennett of Conneaut; two sisters, Doris Reed of Conneaut, and Eloise Wilson of Oneonta, Ala.; his brother, Harry A. Bennett of Hadley, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, and more distant relatives.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Willis L., Jr. and Robert C. Bennett; three brothers, Lyle F., Nelson R., and Melvin Bennett; his sister, Hazel Seavey; son-in-law, Harry Goodenow; daughter-in-law, Sandra Bennett; and two grandsons, Gary Bennett and Larry Olekshuk.
     Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. PLANTATION, FL - - Sharon "Shari" Ferguson, age 66, of Plantation, Fla., died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Holy Cross Hospital, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Born July 11, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the Rev. Hugh and Helen (Jaynes) Ferguson. Mrs. Ferguson was a third-grade schoolteacher at Peters Elementary School in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Sharon has many loving family and friends surviving her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville. The Rev. Jim Walker of Peoples Church will officiate.

STANLEY R. MITCHELL
CONNEAUT - - Stanley R. Mitchell, age 82, of Conneaut, Ohio, died Sunday evening, May 27, 2007, at his home following a short illness.
     He was born September 26, 1924, in Confluence, Pa., and was the son of John and Edith (Knight) Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell attended Turkeyfoot, Pa., schools, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He later joined the U.S. Marines for a two-year enlistment. He retired from the Ashtabula Post Office and was a bus driver for Conneaut and Edgewood Schools.
     A Conneaut resident since 1967, Mr. Mitchell was a member of First United Methodist Church and the V.F.W. of Ashtabula. He was very active in Masonic organizations, holding memberships in Evergreen Lodge #222 F&AM, Rose Chapter #22 O.E.S. of which he was Worthy Patron five times, Cache Commandry #27, Conneaut Council #40, Western Reserve Chapter #8 of Ashtabula, and was a 32nd-degree Mason.
     He enjoyed his family, family get-togethers, and the outdoors, especially working around his home.
     Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Henderson) Mitchell, whom he married January 21, 1967; a daughter, Patricia of Florida; three sons, Timothy of Kingsville, and Stanley and Terry of Ashtabula, Ohio; five grandchildren, Justin, Jennifer, Matthew, Michelle, and Nicholas; and many nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Dianna; two sisters, Therza and Nina; and five brothers, Kenneth, Charles, William, Donald, and Wilbur.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007, at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. Chuck Graham, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio, with military honors by Cowle Post #151 of the American Legion.

CONNEAUT - - Ruby P. Lucas, age 97, of Buffalo St., died Sunday, May 27, 2007, at the Villa at the Lake.
     She was born December 26, 1909, in Gretna, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Isreal and Annie (Nesbitt) Wise.
     Ruby was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed reading, and she truly enjoyed her grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Choo Choo."
     She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra (Steve) Horvath of Conneaut, and Margaret (James) Lyon, also of Conneaut; grandchildren, Julie (Mark) Sedmak of Conneaut, Scott (Elaine) Lyon of Haslett, Mich., Susanne Horvath of Conneaut, and Stephen Horvath (Heidi Parkomaki) of Conneaut; great-grandchildren, Mark Sedmak, Jay Lyon, Katie Lyon, Analynn Horvath-Difilippo, and Rebecca Parkomaki.
     Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lynn, in 1981; and three sisters, Viola Dively, Myrtle Fowler, and Shirley Nester.

NAPLES, FL - - Paul L. Davis, age 57, formerly of Kingsville, Ohio, died unexpectedly, Thursday, May 24, 2007, at his home in Naples, Fla.
     He was born December 3, 1949 in Kingsville, the son of Howard L and Leola M. (Palmer) Davis, and he has lived in Florida since 1983. He was Owner-Operator of Davis Shutters in Florida.
     Surviving him are his mother, Leola M. Clark of Naples, Fla.; two daughters, Heather and Heidi Davis; a son, William Paul Davis; two brothers, Jerry Davis of N.C. and Mark Davis of Fla.; three sisters, Aldine Roxberry of Naples, Fla., Penny Adams of Pa., and Kristie Lechefsky of Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
